Elon Musk called the possible creator of bitcoin

According to the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, behind the pseudonym of the creator of bitcoin may be hiding a mathematician who in 1998 created an algorithm for a decentralized digital currency called "bit gold"

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk during a podcast with Lex Friedman denied rumors that he is hiding behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto and is the creator of bitcoin. The businessman suggested that the real Satoshi Nakamoto could be a scientist working in the field of computer science and cryptography, Nick Szabo. According to Musk, the ideas that Szabo promotes are very similar to the principles underlying the first cryptocurrency.

In 1998, Szabo created an algorithm for a decentralized digital currency called "bit gold". Despite the fact that the system was not implemented in practice, it is considered the predecessor of Bitcoin. Szabo denies any involvement in the development of the first cryptocurrency.

That Nick Szabo is a true bitcoin developer is a common theory. Linguists at Aston University in Birmingham studied the writing style and topics that the scientist raised in the field of computer science and cryptography. They largely coincided with the bitcoin white paper.

Analysts took as a sample more than 40 articles from Szabo's website and, among other things, noticed one pattern – in Satoshi's original article on bitcoin, there is often a double gap. This may be due to using the LaTeX editor to write the original article before converting it to PDF. A similar detail is in the materials of the scientist.

Rumors about the connection between Musk and Satoshi

On Dec. 28, former SpaceX and Tesla employee Sahil Gupta explained why he considers Elon Musk to be Satoshi Nakamoto. The programmer said that in 2017 he talked with the representative of the businessman Sam Teller regarding the work. Teller refused him and advised him to start his own company, Gupta explained. At the end of the telephone conversation, the developer asked the representative of the businessman about whether Musk is the creator of Bitcoin. For about 15 seconds, Teller remained silent and then said, "Well, what can I say," Gupta said. In support of his words, the programmer published a screenshot of the correspondence in which he agreed with Teller about the call.

For the first time, Gupta said that Elon Musk is Satoshi Nakamoto in 2017. According to an ex-employee of SpaceX, a businessman with a high probability can be the creator of bitcoin, since he had the necessary resources, knowledge and motivation for this.

Satoshi Nakamoto is an anonymous developer or group of programmers who in 2008 published the document Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System (Bitcoin: peer-to-peer payment system). A year later, the bitcoin blockchain was created and the first block was mined.
