Here’s What We Know about the Upcoming Surface Pro 5

If you were hoping to get your hands on a new Surface Pro 5 this year, you’re in for a bit of disappointment because Microsoft doesn’t plan to launch this device until 2017. However, the good news is that once it’s finally out, this thing is going to include some impressive features such as a 4K display and an Intel Kaby Lake Processor. It’s likely that the company has decided to skip the Surface Pro 5 launch this year in order to work out some issues with the device’s design, as other companies such as Asus are already gearing up for the release of their own Kaby Lake-based products.

Here’s What We Know about the Upcoming Surface Pro 5 1

The most basic model of the Surface Pro 5 will probably incorporate a Core M chip while more powerful versions with Core i5 and Core i7 processors would be unveiled at a later date. The operating system will obviously be Windows 10, and the display will boast a higher resolution when compared to the older Surface Pro 4. A 4K display would pose some issues as far as battery life is concerned, but since Kaby Lake chips will be incredibly power efficient, it’s probably safe to assume that they will help even things out. And since the tablet will be quite thin, it’s not likely that it will include an AMD or NVIDIA GPU, as these require heat dissipation solutions that are normally implemented in thicker products.

Do you think that Microsoft will be able to take over the Windows 10 tablet market with the Surface Pro 5?
