Breath of the Wild is Already Running in CEMU Two Weeks After Launch!

Nintendo Switch and Zelda: Breath of the Wild have only been with us a few weeks, but that hasn’t stopped the developers of the Wii U emulator Cemu from getting the game up and running in their software. Within just a few days of the game being released, the game was playable for the first few minutes, although it suffered quite a few glitches with physics and the games abilities. The frame rate was also around 15 FPS, but for a couple of days after release, that’s staggering progress.

Now the team have had two weeks to tinker, and it looks like they’ve made some impressive progress. The game is running at its rated 30 FPS, with minor slowdown here and there. However, even the Wii U version suffers from slowdown, so it looks like they’re on the right track here. Those eager to try out the emulation will be happy to know that support is coming in Cemu version 1.7.4, released to Patreon subscribers on the 2nd of April, and getting a general release on April 9th.

The video shown demonstrates how many of the initial bugs have been resolved, and while there’s still lots of room for improvement, it doesn’t look like it’s going to take long to iron them out.
